Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC Rosarubra red wine
Sensory notes
Colour: a bright dark ruby red with purple reflections on the edge and a relevant texture.
Smell: floral scents and red pulp fruit, violet, rose, black cherry, blackberry, plum and a delicate spiciness of black pepper.
Taste: a full flavour, an intense but not excessive heat, tones consistent with the sense of smell, which are combined with notes of cocoa and tobacco. It is dry and with an excellent overall softness, well balanced by an interesting freshness and energetic but reasonable tannins. Good minerality, in a long, delicately almondy finish.
Harvesting
Born in a beautiful area dedicated to viticulture, at an ideal altitude to guarantee an extraordinary temperature range and with a magnificent exposure, from a very old vine grown with the Tendon and Guyot system.
A Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC, obtained from a rigorously manual harvest in the first half of October, from certified biodynamic agriculture, which ensures maximum respect for the surrounding environment.
Winemaking
A vinification in thermo-conditioned steel vats, followed by a malolactic fermentation and a subsequent maturation of 6 months in cement tanks. This is followed by an aging of no less than 10 months in large oak barrels, before starting an aging of a further 6 months in the bottle, in the total absence of oxygen.
How to pair our Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Rosarubra wine
To be served at 14-16 degrees and possibly with a large goblet with a wide rim, and always uncork it a little before serving, so as to allow it to open well and express itself at its best.
Perfect on any occasion, it can be enjoyed alone or in company, preferably combined with well-structured and tasty dishes: aperitifs, appetizers, vegetarian dishes, red meats and medium and long-aged cheeses.
Let’s imagine the classic platter of cold cuts, fettuccine with meat sauce, quiche with four cheeses, a sliced steak with green pepper or a nice semi-seasoned Abruzzo pecorino.
